Dr Malcolm Torz

malcolm

Malcolm qualified from King’s College School of Medicine & Dentistry in 1990. After House and SHO residential jobs in Oral Surgery at St George’s, Edgware and Barnet Hospitals, he founded the original London Oral Surgery Centre in 1994, later becoming London Day Surgery Centre in 1997. Having over 3 decades of oral surgery experience in both the NHS and private sectors, he has built up a working relationship with over 200 GDP’s. He has also worked closely with a number of NHS Hospital Trusts, enabling the London Day Surgery Centre to provide hospital level oral surgery to assist these trusts with meeting waiting list targets. In June 2020 he was pleased to hand over the reins to Dr Radhika Chopra as the clinic became the new London Dental Surgery Centre, and is pleased to continue working closely with this wonderful team.

In addition, Malcolm has almost 20 years’ experience in the world of facial aesthetics. He discovered a laser treatment for acne, gaining national and international recognition in the media. He has extensive experience with wrinkle relaxing injections and dermal fillers, having worked in this field for over 17 years, including some teaching.

In the outside world Malcolm is an avid theatre goer, an enthusiastic foodie, a reluctant but adoring cat owner and a part time couch potato!

Dr Radhika Chopra

The Team

Dr Radhika Chopra BDS, MJDS RCS(Eng), PGDipSed, MScAesMed joined LDSC in June 2020 as our in house sedationist and one of our dentists with a special interest in Oral Surgery.

She qualified from Kings College London in 2012 and currently works in general practice and as a Specialty dentist in Oral Surgery at Guys hospital, where she has published several papers in the field of oral surgery. In 2013 Radhika obtained her Membership of the Joint Dental Faculty, at the Royal College of Surgeons London. In 2014 was elected onto the board of the faculty of general dental practice – central London division where she helped organise CPD evenings. In 2015 she completed the diploma in conscious sedation at Kings College London with merit. And went on to complete her masters in medical aesthetics at Queen Mary’s London with Distinction in 2019.

Her real passion lies with sedation and oral surgery and she regularly sedates for longer treatments such as implants, general dentistry and periodontal treatment. Her calm and caring nature puts even the most anxious patient at ease.

Ms Shrina Nathwani

Shrina Nathwani

Ms Nathwani is a Consultant in Oral Surgery and works across London and the South East of England. She graduated from Kings College London in 2009 and undertook roles in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in London and the surrounding counties. She completed her specialist training at the Oral and Maxillofacial unit in Luton and Dunstable NHS Trust working across the Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire network, and was awarded the Membership in Oral Surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons.

She is a Consultant in Oral Surgery at Surrey and Sussex NHS Trust and sits on the Oral Surgery Managed Clinical Network for Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

 

She has a keen interest in dental education with a Masters in Health and Medical Education with distinction and is also a fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She is the current Training Programme Director for Dental Core Trainees in Kent, Surrey and Sussex, and examines for the License in Dental Surgery held by the Royal College of Surgeons. She is also acts as clinical advisor to the General Dental Council.

Her publications include commissioned and peer reviewed articles in the management of medically compromised patients and review of dental education, as well as recent involvement in the diversity and inclusion review with the Royal College of Surgeons and authoring a chapter in a BDA book. Ms Nathwani has been invited to present her research to the wider health community both nationally and internationally.

Dr Shina Popat

Dr Shina Popat qualified in 2001 with Distinction from St. Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine. She spent over 3 years working in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at a number of well respected hospitals during which time she gained her MFDS fellowship qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2004.

Shina worked as an Oral Surgery Staff Grade at King’s College Hospital, London, for 16 years, where she performed all aspects of dento-alveolar surgery both under intravenous sedation, general anaesthesia and local anaesthetic alone. She has an interest in teaching and was a clinical supervisor to undergraduates as well as SHO’s and SpRs in training. She gained her MSurg Dent qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2009 and in 2013, Shina gained a Diploma in conscious sedation in Dentistry from Guys Hospital, further developing the interest she has in working with very anxious and dentally phobic patients. Shina looks forward to taking care of all your dental needs.

Dr Digant Soni

Digant completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery training in India and then moved to the UK in 2006. Digant has worked in several Oral & Maxillofacial units and is trained to provide IV sedation with his treatments. Digant has a special interest in TMJ pain and dental implants. He has completed a detailed course in implantology and is passionate about helping patients regain their confidence through expert implant care.

Dr Barry Sims

Barry Sims

Dr Barry Sims has been with us for 10 years. Dr Sims is highly skilled and has been attracting referrals from all over the country. He is able to carry out all aspects of Implantology, from single tooth cases to full mouth reconstructions and bone grafting, with the added benefit of on-site, state-of-the-art, CBCT scanning.

Dr Sulaman Anwar

Sulaman Anwar profile

Sulaman is a registered Specialist Periodontist and holds a special interest in sedation and management of anxious patients. His work as a specialty registrar in the department of Periodontics and Implant Surgery at Guy’s Hospital culminated in him obtaining a Masters Degree in Periodontology at King’s College London and after a rigorous examination process he successfully obtained specialist membership with the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

Sulaman qualified as a dental surgeon from King’s College London (Guy’s, King’s & St Thomas Hospitals) in 2011. His pursuit to continually develop his expertise in dentistry and more specifically surgery led him to become a Senior House Officer in oral surgery and oral medicine. Sulaman took on the prestigious role of in-house dentist at the University of Cambridge.

Sulaman obtained his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2013. He has been an active member of the College and in summer 2019 was elected as Dental Ambassador for the college representing the London region.

In 2013, Sulaman went on to complete a diploma in Sedation at Guy’s Hospital to further aid his management of anxious patients. He then undertook the four year full-time specialist training programme in Periodontology and Implant surgery at King’s College London, obtaining a dual qualification in both the Masters of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontology and Masters of Periodontology and Restorative Dentistry in 2018.

Sulaman is currently working at various private dental practices in and around London, as a visiting specialist. As a periodontist Sulaman carries out non-surgical periodontal treatment, placement of dental implants, and offers various types of periodontal surgery including explorative periodontal surgery, regenerative surgery, root coverage treatments to correct single or multiple recession defects, functional and cosmetic gum contouring.

He is a fully specialist registered member of the British Dental Association, European Federation of Periodontology, British Society of Periodontology, American Academy of Periodontology, International Academy of Periodontology and the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.

Sulaman sits on the interview panel for the dental undergraduate programme at King’s College London. Looking to help others, Sulaman has undertaken various voluntary roles including a placement with the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia and is involved in rolling out an oral health promotion campaign.

In his spare time, Sulaman enjoys photography, working out at the gym, running and spending time with family and friends. Sulaman has drafted a bucket list and with a passion for travelling, he has crossed off a Skydive over Dubai Palm, Scuba Diving at the Great Barrier Reef, the world’s longest zipline in the UAE, the world’s fastest zipline in St. Maarten and cage diving with sharks off the coast of Cape Town.

Dr Enamul Ali

Enamul Ali

Dr Enamul Ali FDS RCS (Eng), BDS, MBBS, GDC 71103, GMC 6076085, has dedicated has career in the field of both oral and maxillofacial surgery for the past 19 years. He has been at London Dental Surgery since 2006 and carries out oral surgery procedures under local anaesthetic and intra-venous sedation.

Dr Ali holds degrees in both Bachelor of Dental and Medical Sciences, enabling him to treat patient’s oral pathology while keeping in mind their other medical needs. He is an Associate Specialist at Homerton University Hospital, London, handling special and complex cases under LA/IV sedation/GA. He also works in affiliated practices providing Independent Oral Surgery services. He has an interest in teaching and is an Clinical Supervisor, taking great joy in sharing his expertise with colleagues to help them with their careers.

Dr Ali remains focused in striving to achieve excellence in clinical practice and procedures, and is committed to CPD. His core competences are: IV Sedation Mentor, Dento-Alveolar Surgical Procedures, Biopsy Procedures, Facial Pain and TMJ Disorders, Facial Skin Cancer Treatment and Reconstruction.

Dr Nishma Somaia

The Team

Dr Nishma Somaia qualified as a dentist from the University of Manchester in 1997, having passed with honours. She had already gained a BSc from the same university in 1994. She has a special interest in Oral surgery and exodontia which she developed undertaking several Oral and Maxillofacial surgery hospital posts, including a post as a Senior dentist and tutor in Oral surgery at the Royal Dental hospital of Melbourne, Australia. She became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons Of Edinburgh in 2002. She has an MSc in Implant Dentistry and has a Fellowship in Oral surgery and Oral medicine at the Royal college of surgeons of Ireland. She was appointed as an examiner for the MJDF examination at the Royal college of Surgeons of England as well as a reviewer for the prestigious British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. She recently attained a postgraduate certificate in Clinical education at Kings college, London. She currently works as a Speciality doctor in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at the Royal Free London NHS trust, where she is also the Educational lead for the junior doctors in the department.

Dr Benjamin Saidel

Benjamin Saidel - LDSC

Dr Benjamin Saidel graduated from Wits University, Johannesburg, South Africa in 1989 and then moved to the United Kingdom in 1991 where he gained experience in general practice before running his own successful dental practice.

His primary interest is in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry where he excels in providing his patients with beautiful and confident smiles. He was selected as a finalist in the prestigious Smile Awards 2010. 

He is committed to providing the best possible care for his patients and maintaining a consistently high level of professional excellence at all times. He has always believed that optimum patient care relies on consistently improving and enhancing his knowledge and skills and has attended numerous postgraduate courses over many years to achieve this goal

He enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching football, playing golf and tennis (when gets the chance) and the odd game of soduko.

Dr Aishaini Jogarajah

Aishaini Jogarajah

After graduating with Honours from King’s College London in 2017, Aishaini spent five years working in general practice across North west London and Hertfordshire whilst also pursuing postgraduate training in Restorative Dentistry at the renowned Eastman Dental Institute. Keen to broaden her clinical experience, she moved to Australia to gain a more well-rounded view of private healthcare. Now back in the UK, she has completed her Masters in Endodontology with Distinction and focuses much of her time on complex root canal treatments. Known for her calm and friendly approach, Aishaini is particularly skilled at helping nervous patients feel at ease. Outside of dentistry, she loves travelling, playing badminton and loyally supporting Arsenal - despite the emotional rollercoaster it often brings!

Dr Shrina Patel

Shrina graduated from Barts and the London in 2008 and has since worked as both an associate and principal dentist. Shrina takes great pride in providing quality dental care and building long-standing relationships with patients. She believes it is extremely important for patients to be involved in their treatment planning and therefore, she will always ensure that she spends time discussing various options with her patients. Knowing that many patients are nervous about going to the dentist, she always seeks to spend time explaining to patients what their treatment involves in order to ease their nerves and will strive to make them feel as comfortable as possible. Shrina has completed a one year aesthetic restorative course, allowing her to provide cosmetic treatments ranging from teeth whitening to veneers, composite bonding and ICON treatments. She is also trained to provide facial aesthetic treatments, including anti-wrinkle treatments and dermal filler treatments with a focus on achieving a natural and subtle result, whilst ensuring that safety is given paramount importance.

Dr Sapna Tohani

Dr Sapna Tahani

Sapna is a GDC registered Specialist in Prosthodontics. She obtained her dental degree from Guys Hospital, London in 1996. She gained a wide range of experience before embarking on 3 years of full-time specialist training in Prosthodontics at the Edinburgh Postgraduate Dental Institute and obtained her Membership from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2004. Following this, she spent 8 years in Singapore where she worked in private dental practice and also spent some time supervising the undergraduate dental students at the National University of Singapore. Sapna returned to the UK in 2014 where she has continued to work in private dental practice. Sapna's work includes restoration of dental implants, treating patients with severe tooth wear, provision of crowns, bridges and providing dentures for complex restorative cases referred by practitioners. Where necessary Sapna works in close conjunction with our team of other specialists to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to the patients treated within LDSC. Intravenous sedation can be provided for nervous patients. Sapna prides herself on her calm and caring manner and looks forward to welcoming you.

Mrs Meeta Nolan

Meeta

After a brief stint of Dental Nursing, Meeta qualified as a Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist from Eastman Dental Hospital in 2002.

Since qualifying, she has worked in a variety of settings including NHS, Specialist, Community, Independent and Corporate Practices, mainly in the North London area. Her special interests are working with nervous patients, patients with gum problems and children. She is passionate about prevention and delivering up to date, evidence-based and caring treatment and advice. On a more personal note, she loves to travel, bake, garden and see as much live music as possible.

Miss Magda Halota

Madga-Halota

Magda has completed her diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2019 and has worked in various healthcare settings, including Phoenix Medical Clinic, where she developed her skills in dental hygiene and patient care. Her background also includes experience as a trainee periodontal nurse, contributing to her well-rounded clinical knowledge. Magda believes in a patient-centred approach to dental hygiene, prioritising patient comfort, and education. In addition to her dental career, Magda is passionate about fitness and wellness. She teaches swimming and Reformer Pilates and works as a fitness instructor.

Miss Courtney Porter

All the way from Australia, Courtney joins the team as our Practice and Marketing Manager. With a background as a registered nurse and operations manager, she brings a strong understanding of the dental care field. Courtney believes exceptional patient care comes from outstanding customer service and working alongside a supportive, compassionate, and high performing team. Outside of work, Courtney loves to travel and has a passion for dance, including contemporary and ballet.

Mrs Chloe Duggan

Chloe Duggan

Chloe gained a degree in marketing which she completed at London Metropolitan University. She previously headed up the marketing team at BriteSmile UK and also worked freelance for a year as a PR consultant.

She has worked at LDSC for the last 14 years and is the Contracts/Practice Manager. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She also has a special interest in dancing particularly tap!

Mrs Sonali Parekh

Sonali Parekh has been a Qualified Dental Nurse since 2008. In 2013, she achieved a Sedation nurse qualification. She has worked in multiple practices as a receptionist and nurse, as well as working in a hospital as a paediatric nurse. She later joined LDSC in 2016 and has since worked with different surgeons doing oral surgery, implant surgery, and general dentistry. Currently, she is also the lead of infection control. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and playing badminton.

Gemma has been working at the London centre for 27 years. When she started she was the only full time nurse the clinic had, but after going on maternity three times she now works part time. She has seen many changes over the years.

She has 3 children which take up a lot of her time, but does love travelling and going to the theatre.

Monika joined the team in 2021.

She is fully qualified GDC registered dental nurse.

As a dental nurse she like to be part of a team who provide patients with professional care and this is exactly what she has found working with the lovely team at LDSC.

Outside of work, Monika takes care of her family and her white Pomeranian dog. She also enjoys reading, cooking and travelling.

Mrs Reeta Kamoga

​Reeta joined LDSC team in March 2022 as a Qualified Dental Nurse, having previously worked as a Registered General Nurse within the Hospital setting for 10years. 

As a Dental Nurse, Reeta always takes a patient oriented approach in order to facilitate a smooth and transparent Dental journey for patients attending LDSC. 

When not at work, Reeta enjoy cooking, listening to music, travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Helen joined the LDSC team in 2022 and has experience working in a sedation clinic dealing with anxious and dental phobic patients. She strives to deliver the best patient care and enjoys working across all our specialties including implants, periodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, general dentistry, endodontics and oral hygiene. Outside of work, she is busy taking care of her 2 children and loves to read.
